How is everyone?
I totally forgot that transfers was this week! I lose track of time
often...but anyways me and Elder Hughes are staying in Arlington
Heights WOOOO! I am definitely stoked to stay with Elder Hughes he is
a stud and we are going to get some serious work done.
I am going to miss some of our district though....Elder Ellis is
leaving to Rockford and Hermana Dahle is going home to (I'll send a
district picture after this).
But this area is so great, the members are fantastic and we are seeing
some really great success. Spanish wards are hilarious, Obispo
literally just does what he wants and blames it on being in the
Spanish program.
Our investigator pool is doing well, we have an interesting mix of
people. Alfredo, the one I was talking about a few weeks ago, is still
progressing but is nervous about the baptismal process still. He said
he doesn't feel quite ready for baptism, but he keeps coming to
church. We are working hard with him, and don't worry, we will get him
in there! All of your prayers on his behalf would be greatly
appreciated. Then we are working with a couple different families that
are way cool! Rosa and her kids are from El Salvador, and she is
really fighting for some changes in her life. Sarai and her two
daughters have come to church! Jasmine and her kids are reading their
Book of Mormon, and we are teaching the aunt and uncle of a member in
our ward. Overall, we having been putting in some serious effort to
get some work done here in this area. This has definitely been one of
the most jam-packed, successful weeks of my mission.
But honestly none of the events stick out to me too much...I
translated a talk for Obispo that he gave at a baptism, so that was
cool. My Spanish feels really great, it is nice to not have to think
too hard about speaking anymore, it just comes out of my mouth. There
is always room to improve though, I keep trying to push myself.
Honestly, life is fantastic. I can't say much more than that.
Someone needs to teach me how to write this emails...because I
honestly haven't gotten any better.
I hope all is well!
Let me know if there are certain topics of the mission field you would
like to hear about, or if you are preparing to leave and want some
questions answered just let me know! I'd love to help where I can,
You are all in my prayers!
Con mucho amor,
