Que Tal Familia!
Hooooooolaaaa! How are you all doing? It has been another great week here in humid Illinois! Seriously though, the weather is heating up, and I finally understand part of the pain of the early Saints treking through this swamp hahaha. The mosquitos are out, the sun is shining....and so is my face from how much we sweat. It is wonderful hahah! I couldnt imagaine a better day nor time to be serving these people.
This week has been quite busy! I know I said that last week, but it is true. On wednesday, Elder Reyes and I had our first zone training! and because of how the meeting was planned, we ourselves had to instruct for a little more than 2 hours hahaha. Surprisingly it turned out pretty well, although we got little sleep the night before planning it all out hahaha. Like I said, there is never enough time in the day to do all of the things you would like to.
One of the major highlights of my week was going on exchanges with the assistants. I went with Elder Anderson to their area and Elder Cluff took my place in ours. I have a lot of respect for these two Elders and it was a blessing to be able to learn from Elder Anderson. Little miracles always seem to take place during exchanges. One of those happened when we were stopping by a few different less active members in their area. We went to the apartments where they lived and it just so happened that every person that we met spoke Spanish haha! So I was able to get 4 new referrals for the hermanas that cover the Spanish side of their area. Then, we stopped by this less active woman and found out that she only spoke Spanish (before that time they had never been able to contact her) So she opened the door and we started talking and having an amazing time. Long story short, due to an accident that happened to her at work, she asked me to give her a blessing. It was a really special experience for me and her! She said that she was planning on going to church that Sunday as well, I need to follow up with the hermanas to see if she did. But to say the least it was an awesome day. It is amazing to see that when you are obedient and working hard to fufill the commandments of God, the Lord will place you were you need to be.
Sorry that this is such a short update! we are switching apartments today, so I havent even finished half of the things that I need to do....
I love you all more than I can say! I really really appreciate all of the support and love that I felt on my birthday! Thanks for being amazing friends and family,
Con mucho amor,
Elder Stewart-Chester
"from another blogger:) " I also had the chance to work with Elder Stewart-Chester from the Aurora Spanish Ward, but we worked here in the English area. This time it was his Spanish skills, not my playing-with-toys or mad-futbol skills, that came in the clutch, as we happened to meet a member in our ward boundaries that only speaks Spanish, and Elder Stewart-Chester was able to give her a blessing that she needed, because she had hurt her back just days earlier at work. Besides that, we had a really good day walking around in the heat and humidity street contacting, and met a few really solid potential investigators!"
