Hola familia,
que tal?!
The week has gone by much like the rest! fasst.
The area is really amazing and the ward has some fantastic members. Really the only thing that is killing us is finding people to teach! We spend 85% of our time knocking, talking, and waving to people and we have yet to build up a solid teaching pool. Yet the work moves forward! as is always has and always will. My companion and I are setting goals on what to change and how to be better.
Improvement and success can always be found in life, the only thing that changes is if we give up, or keep trying. So keep trying.
I have come to understand in a very real way what God expects of me as His child. Let me put it this way: Perfection is not one of the things He expects.
Remember that. If God expected us to be perfect today I think He would become a very grumpy, dissapointed man tomorrow.
I would sumbit that our loving Father in Heaven is far more concerned about the processes of life, than the outcome. This means that He still requires effort. We must be pushing and achieving, growing and stretching as often as possible. We need to do the best that we can, and as a hero of mine has once said, "sometimes doing our best doesnt always mean we will do our best". Ponder on that for a minute.
This week we saw a miracle.
We were walking to try and find a less-active member when we saw a woman walk out of her apartment to go to her car. We obviously stopped to talk to her. Her name is Jennifer and I think she is the most prepared woman I have ever met. As we talked she explained that she has met with missionaries years ago, and that she was working towards getting baptized but that alot of things got in the way and she lost contact with the missionaries. She then described to us how much she loved our church and what we did. We talked to her more and more and she began to open up to us. She explained that she loved God, but that she has always felt like she didn't deserve love in return. She exlained to us other concerns and talked about how much she wanted her 3 year old daughter to learn about God. As we talked you could just see her start to glow with hope and happiness. She explained how much she loved the Book of Mormon. At the end of our conversation of about an hour, she finally told us, "I had no reason to leave me apartment to come outside. There was nothing in my car that I needed, I don't know why I came outside". She speaks English so we referred her to the english elders and she came to church on Sunday and is preparing to be baptized July 9th! Our God is a God of miracles.
I love you all! Have a fantastic week! Pray for us to be able to find more people to teach and pray for Jennifer!
