Que Tal Familia?
hello hello
This week really flew by...honestly this is ridiculous.
This week we saw some really cool miracles, so let me tell you about a few!
The first one happened at about 8:30 at night, 30 minutes before we
had to be in our apartments. We didn't have the car that night, and we
were about a 20 minute walk from our apartment. We had 10 minutes. We
had one stopby planned before we were going to head home but for some
reason it didn't feel like the right thing to do. We started walking
back in the direction of our apartment and Elder Hughes asked me where
I was going. I made a joke quoting from 1 Nephi 4:6 "And I was led by
the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do."
Elder Hughes laughed at that comment, but I think God laughed harder
saying, "You want to joke about miracles do you?"
We began our journey back home and saw no one. Nobody was out on the
streets (it was pretty cold). But right as we were walking up the
street to our apartment complex a woman and her two children stepped
out of their car in front of us. The woman gave us a really strange
look and both me and Elder Hughes were pretty confused hahaha, but she
suddenly said, "excuse me, You Mormons?" In a very thick accent (She
is Mongolian). We tried to communicated the best that we could with
her, we found out that her parents in Mongolia are members of our
church and that she wanted to know where our church building was. We
excitedly gave her the address and got her number. We can't even say
her full name so she said to call her "Jay" hahaha. That may seem like
a normal circumstance but I promise that having someone contact you
before you contact them is a rare experience as a missionary. Imagine
if we had ended up doing our previously planned stopby? The Lord works
in mysterious ways. I testify that he is involved in the details of
our lives.
Another experience that proves the same point happened on our way to
Stake Conference this Sunday. I was driving and the other Elders came
with us to. We pulled up to a random stop light and noticed that the
man in the car next to us was rolling down his window. It turned out
to be one of the Hermana's investigators! He said, "donde van?" Or
"where are you going?" And we told him that we were headed to the
church and so he followed us there! We later found out that the
Hermanas didn't tell him that it was stake conference, so he went to
our church building and found it locked. He was on his way home when
we met him at the stop light in the middle of no where. You can
believe in coincidences if you'd like to, but I personally declare as
did Jacob in the Book of Mormon, "O how great the plan of our God!"
Not only is our God perfectly concerned with the details, but he has
also provided the Plan of Redemption.
There is nothing more comforting for me to know than that my God has
provided for me the perfect Plan. And even more infinitely consoling,
is that this Plan is all made possible through the Savior Jesus
Christ. I testify to you all that He lives.
Have the most fantastic week!
Remember who you are, don't forget to breathe,
