Sup Fam!
This week was crazy and honestly just thinking about typing up something about it tires me...HAHA! It is just really hard to fit all of my thoughts into one email! I am trying to type super fast! This week was awesome for a couple reasons, the first is Isaac Meline!
So all the new missionaries come in on Wednesday and I knew that Isaac would be here at around 1:30 after talking to some people on the "inside" I signed up to host like 2 weeks ago just so that I could for sure get a spot. Okay. So then Wednesday rolls around and the hype is increasing, I mean how sweet would it be if I got to introduce Elder Meline to the CCM! but here is the thing. They were introducing 640 new missionaries....so the chances are basically zero. Also there are people standing there to yell at you if they see you are waiting to host a friend. I tried super hard to stall in the bathroom so that I could walk out exactly when i needed to, but right when I walked out I got called to host some other random dude!:( this is the part that it gets hilariously worse. I am walking the new missionary over to the building when all of the sudden i hear "FLETCHER!!!!"
yep.
Elder Meline's whole fam is screaming at me from their car. I must have missed them by about a minute and a half. DANG IT.
But it all ended up working out because I still got to tackle him with a hug as soon as I saw him. Man it is beyond fun to each other walking around. It is weird but way fun.
To answer your question mom, ya I see like a billion people that I know everyday. (everyone is thinking wow Elder SC didn't know you were that conceited) hahaha but seriously, there are so many people!!
One thing that I forgot to mention I just realized is that me and Tyler Nanto are in the same zone hahah He is literally a classroom away from me. and he and I are both DLs so i see him and hangout with him all the time. Which is way random and lucky when you think about it.
Other people that are here that you might know are: Justin Hymas Ryan Asay and Hayden Wall
I also see tons of other people from PG. But also like 6 or 7 kids that I know from Rexburg.
The other day a girl stopped me in the hall and said that she recognized me. I'm pretty sure her name was Saige, and she said she was related to the Iversons! It was sweet!
So ya, the CCM is pretty much a million different unexpected connections. I honestly don't know what the deal is, all these dang Mormons...Geeze(;
Okay the last story that I wanted to share is about Marco again! our TRC investigator that I was talking about last week. The one from peru. Anyways, Yesterday we had our very last lesson with him. (oh ya, did I mention I got my travel plans today?)
Marco is a champion. Probably one of my favorite people ever in the world. Our last lesson was very informal and we just talked about life in general and our missions and stuff. He took my email address to and said he wanted to email me! I'm stoked. But the part that was most amazing was that after we had finished our lesson, he asked me to pray. But he said specifically that he wanted me to bless his mother. Who is actually very sick in real life. He also asked me to bless him and his dealing with Polio.
I began the prayer and immediately the spirit filled the room. I honestly can't tell you exactly what the words that I said in that prayer meant. I used words that I had never used before. I went into more detail that I think I actually can in Spanish haha I don't know how...But when I opened my eyes he was crying. During our final goodbyes and before I took a picture (yes mom, a picture;) He hobbled over to use on his crutches and said the first english words I had ever heard him say. In very broken english he said, "Thank you. You have no idea how much you bless me and my family. My mother will never admit it, but she knows. She knows it is because of you"
The reason I tell that story is to boast of the power of God. Not myself. I didn't have the adequate vernacular to say that prayer. I din't have the knowledge of exactly what he needed to hear. But God knows. Please never forget that. I love you all more than life!
Con Amor,
Elder Stewart-Chester
